This data is obtained from other sources such as the International Passenger Survey and the Bank of England. As a result, these industries are excluded from the figures reported in this publication. Estimates for the overall level of trade in services, including these industries, are published in the Office for National Statistics Pink Book publication.
  • Business Enterprise Research and Development, 2011 20-Nov-2012
    This release provides estimates of businesses' expenditure and employment relating to R&D performed in the UK in 2011, irrespective of the residence of the ultimate owner/user of the R&D produced. Estimates in cash terms present the values of R&D expenditures collected by the Business Enterprise Research and Development (BERD) survey, while real terms estimates have been adjusted for changes in the general price level between years using the GDP deflator. This allows changes in the volume of R&D expenditures to be examined over time.
