    These tables show estimates of the UK resident population by country of birth and nationality. The data are produced using the Annual Population Survey (APS), which is the Labour Force Survey (LFS) plus various sample boosts. Tables 1.1 and 1.2 use country of birth groupings, table 1.3 presents the 60 most common countries of birth in the UK and table 1.4 the five most common countries of birth in the countries of the UK and UK areas. Tables 2.1 and 2.2 use nationality groupings, table 2.3 presents the 60 most common nationalities in the UK and table 2.4 the five most common nationalities in the countries of the UK and UK areas.

    These tables show the underlying data that is used to produce estimates of the UK resident population by country of birth and nationality. The data are produced using the Annual Population Survey (APS), which is the Labour Force Survey (LFS) plus various sample boosts. Tables A to C show country of birth data, and tables D to F show nationality data for: countries of the UK, regions of England, unitary/local authorities, metropolitan and London boroughs and counties.

    These tables show estimates of the UK resident population by country of birth and nationality. These data are produced using the Annual Population Survey (APS) which is the Labour Force Survey plus various sample boosts. APS datasets are produced quarterly with each dataset containing 12 months of data. Tables 1.1 and 1.2 use country of birth groupings, table 1.3 presents the 60 most common countries of birth in the UK and table 1.4 the five most common countries of birth in the countries of the UK and UK areas. Tables 2.1 and 2.2 use nationality groupings, table 2.3 presents the 60 most common nationalities in the UK and table 2.4 the five most common nationalities in the countries of the UK and UK areas. It is possible that an individual’s nationality may change but the respondent's country of birth cannot change. This means that country of birth gives a more robust estimate of change over time.
