    This bulletin, 2011 Census Detailed Characteristics for England and Wales, supplements the release of the Key Statistics in December 2012 and Quick Statistics in January 2013. It presents findings for England and Wales drawn from the first release of detailed Characteristics tables that provide cross tabulations of two or more topics from the census. The 2011 Census statistics covered are unique because the census is the only information source that measures these characteristics together across the whole population.

    This release provides key 2011 Census estimates that describe the usual resident population (as at March 2011) of national parks in Wales. The 35 Key Statistics tables included provide census estimates for the populations within the exact boundaries of the three national parks in Wales.

The passports held classification used in this table is a 71 category classification that provides more detail than Key Statistics table KS205EW.

    This table provides 2011 Census estimates that classify the usual resident population by national identity, for unitary authorities in Wales on census day (27 March 2011). National identity is a persons assessment of their own identity with respect to the country or countries with which they feel an affiliation. It is not dependent on legal nationality or ethnic group. The national identity classification used in this table is a 91 category classification.

    This table provides 2011 Census estimates that classify Household Reference Persons aged 16 to 64 living in households by approximated social grade, for unitary authorities in Wales on census day (27 March 2011). Social grade is a socio-economic classification used by market research industries to analyse spending habits and consumer attitudes.
