Estimates of short-term migration, based on information gathered by the International Passenger Survey (IPS) when migrants return home. This report examines the differences between the mid-year short-term international immigration estimates produced by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) for local authorities in England and Wales and the estimates of short-term residents (STRs) from the 2011 Census.
