This article analyses two measures which are currently used for Measuring National Well-being. These are 'the percentage of people who say they are satisfied with the amount of their leisure time' and 'the percentage of people who have volunteered more than once in the last 12 months'. The data are from Understanding Society, The UK Household Longitudinal Study, 2010-11 (UKHLS) and for this article focusses only on people aged 50 years old and over.
