Regional and Country Profiles - Directory of Tables

Abstract

Region and Country Profiles provides a source of essential statistics for the regions of England and the constituent countries of the UK (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). The tables are published in five sections and released at different times for Key Statistics, Population and Migration, Social Indicators, Economy and Environment. The Directory of Tables lists all the individual tables in each part. Alongside the tables, Regional Profiles are produced.

Introduction

Region and Country Profiles provides a source of essential statistics for the regions of England and the constituent countries of the UK (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). The reference tables continue some of the tables previously published in Regional Trends. We publish five sets of tables as Excel files for Key Statistics, Population and Migration, Social Indicators, Economy and Environment. Key Statistics is updated repeatedly throughout the year. The topic based datasets are released less frequently. We update the Directory each time we release updates to one or more of these datasets. Key Statistics Region and Country Profiles are produced annually. The topic-based profiles may be produced irregularly.

Population and Migration tables provide a wide range of demographic statistics to compare the countries of the UK, regions of England and local authority areas.

Regional Profiles

The Regional Profiles are Summaries that give key facts and figures in words, numbers, charts and maps about life and the economy in each area of the regions and countries. Once a year Region and Country Profiles  are produced for each of the regions of England and countries of the UK. Topic summaries are produced for the English regions to support the reference tables for: Population and MigrationSocial IndicatorsEconomy and Environment.
