Dataset details: Quarterly National Accounts Time Series Dataset Q1 2012

Correction

23 November 2012

As part of the Gross Fixed Capital Formation post production quality assurance process, errors have been identified in the Gross Fixed Capital Formation series. The following publications and associated time series have now been corrected:

• Quarterly National Accounts - 2012 Quarter 1 and Quarter 2,

• United Kingdom Economic Accounts - 2012 Quarter 1 and Quarter 2,

• Business Investment - 2012 Quarter 1 and Quarter 2.

Chapter 9 of the 2012 edition of the Blue Book is currently inconsistent with these publications. Further quality assurance work is ongoing and a correction to the relevant Blue Book tables will be published as soon as possible.

For the Quarterly National Accounts, Q1 2012, originally published on 28 June 2012, the affected series and growth rates are in Table F.

Table F

The error affects quarterly data and annual data in 2004 and relates to the asset and sector breakdowns of gross fixed capital formation and their associated growth rates.

The affected series are:

• NPEL, DLWF, KLQ9, KLQ5, DLWL, DLWO, DFEG, DLWT, EQDO, NPEN, EQDN, KLQ8, KLQ4, DLWJ, DLWM, DFDV, DLWQ and EQDT.

The error also affects annual data for series KLQ4 from 1997 to 2010.

An error has been discovered in Table F of Quarterly National Accounts, Q1 2012, originally published on 28 June 2012.

Table F

The error affects quarterly data between 1997 and 2011 for the asset and sector breakdowns of gross fixed capital formation and their associated growth rates.

The affected series are:

• DLWF, KH92, KH9C, KH9M, KLQ9, KLQ5, DLWL, KH95, KH9F, KH9P, DLWO, KH96, KH9G, KH9Q, DFEG, KH8Y, KH9A, KH9K, DLWT, KH97, KH9H, KH9R, EQDO, KH98, KH9I, KH9S

No other series are affected and this error has now been corrected.

This dataset now includes the change to insurance methodology announced on 30 March 2012 in the article 'Content of UK National Accounts: the Blue Book 2012' for the periods prior to 1997.

A production error has been discovered in Tables A1 and A2 of Quarterly National Accounts, Q1 2012, originally published on 28 June 2012. 

The error in Tables A1 and A2 affects annual and quarterly data between 1997 and 2009 for; Gross value added at basic prices, the basic price adjustment, and their associated growth rates. The error does not affect the data periods contained in the statistical bulletin.

The following series relate to the data published in table A1:

• CGBV, KGM4, KGM5, KGM6, CGCE, KGN3

 The following series relate to the data published in table A2:

• NTAO, ABMM, KGN3

No other series are affected and this error has now been corrected.
