The Life Opportunities Survey (LOS) explores disability in terms of the barriers to participation that people experience.
The findings presented are based on data collected from the first year of wave one and of wave two.
Respondents to the LOS were interviewed for the first time in wave one (between June 2009 and March 2010).
Respondents were followed up in wave two (June 2010 to March 2011), approximately one year after their initial interview.
The findings here are considered to be experimental statistics, and will undergo further investigation and analysis.
An audio file of the report can be found on the DWP website.
This release presents initial findings from the second wave of the Life Opportunities Survey. The report focuses only on respondents who reported an impairment at one or both waves of the survey.
The findings are considered experimental statistics, published at an early stage while they undergo further investigation and analysis. As a result the findings in this report have been purposely limited to provide a very brief overview of the data mid-way through the second wave.
The full findings will be available in 2013.
