Production output rose 0.6% between Q1 2013 and Q2 2013. The largest contribution to this growth came from manufacturing, which rose by 0.7% over the same period.
In June 2013 production output was 1.2% higher compared with June 2012. There were rises of 2.0% in manufacturing; 7.8% in water supply, sewerage & waste management and falls of 4.4% in mining and quarrying; and of 3.3% in electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning.
Production rose 1.1% between May 2013 and June 2013, following three consecutive periods of 0.0% growth. There were rises in three of its main sectors except for the electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning sector, which fell by 5.8%. Manufacturing rose by 1.9% over the same period, with rises in all of its sectors.
