Provides a source of essential statistics for the regions of England and the constituent countries of the UK (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). The tables provide a range of demographic, social and economic statistics including population and population density for local authority areas.
Reference table: Population Estimates for England and Wales, Mid 2011 (Census Based) (ZIP 1121Kb) 25-Sep-2012
Mid 2011 population estimates are available at England and Wales level by single year of age and sex and subnationally (local authority/health area) by five year age group and sex. These include additional selected age groups and broad components of population change. The Population Estimates reflect the local authority administrative boundaries that were in place on 30 June of the reference year of the tables. These estimates have been superceded by the Primary Care Organisation Population Estimates, Mid-2011 Final (Census Based) that were released on the 11th April 2013.
