The Customer Information System (CIS) is the central repository of personal and biographic details for DWP and parts of HMRC. In addition to personal details, the CIS also records other data from across DWP including the roles a customer might have in a benefit case, business and family relationships, basic details on customer awards of certain benefits, business interests for a customer and details about organisations involved in specific cases. In addition, the CIS is used by a number of other departments and organisations for relevant business purposes or checking information on specific customers. |
