The ONS Quality Management Strategy was revised in May 2011. It sets out three goals that we will strive to achieve by March 2015. It supports the Code of Practice for Official Statistics and the ONS Vision, and through the implementation of the goals, aims to encourage a culture of continuous improvement and good quality management.
The Statistical Policy Committee owns the strategy, which has been fully endorsed by the Director General. The head of Methodology will support act as the ONS Quality Champion, and the ONS Quality Centre in Methodology Directorate will provide support and training to business areas.
Much of the information included in the strategy focuses on the quality of our statistical outputs, howerver most of the concepts can and should be applied to our generic day-to-day activities.
To view the three quality goals, and how we plan to achieve these please see the ONS Quality Management Strategy.
