Time Series Analysis Branch

Time Series Analysis Branch (TSAB) is the centre of expertise supporting all aspects of time series.

The main focus is seasonal adjustment (removing seasonal and calendar effects from time series to aid interpretation) but TSAB also covers interpolation, estimation, forecasting and revisions.

TSAB conducts a specialist annual review of each seasonally adjusted ONS output, providing peace of mind that methods are up-to-date, and has published an unofficial guide to seasonal adjustment in the X-12-ARIMA software.

TSAB also offers a bespoke two-day course in seasonal adjustment in X-12-ARIMA, combining both theoretical and software training. The course is run twice a year as standard in ONS Newport, but can also be staged at a venue of your choice.

Contact TSAB for further details.
