Harmonisation Bulletin 10 - 6 September 2012: Release of Revised Harmonised Standards
Revisions to the following harmonised standards were ratified by the Heads of Profession for Statistics in January 2012. The update includes the following amendments and additions:
Housing and Tenure (inc Tenure, Housing Costs & Benefits and Accommodation & Household Information)
The harmonised standards for Tenure, Housing Costs & Benefits and Accommodation & Household Information have been revised to reflect current changes in society and rates of payement. These changes include:
Simplified wording of the main tenure question, adding a check question and updating the response categories for the landlord question.
Updating of mortgage payment and Council Tax questions and the introduction of more detailed optional questions on rent and Housing Benefit. The interviewer Instructions have also been updated adding clarity where required.
Revisions to questions for accommodation type, length of residence and availability of motor vehicles.
