Department: Office for National Statistics
Category: General

This, the second phase of our consultation on outputs, is an important part of our preparation for the 2011 Census in England and Wales. The first phase gathered users’ requirements; while this phase intends to make sure that the outputs designed (in response to the initial phase) reflect user requests and meet expectations. The consultation is open to everyone, including members of the public. Government departments, unitary, county and district councils, metropolitan boroughs and other large census user organisations should discuss their requirements internally before making a joint submission.

Specific guidance and information about how to proceed can be downloaded from this page. Please read the user guidance document first.

We will use the responses to produce an agreed set of specifications and outputs timetable which will be issued in summer 2011.

Other consultations will also take place throughout 2011 in relation to other products and services. including dissemination methods, microdata access arrangements and funding and licensing issues. This information will be published on this website.
