Datasets and reference tables

This dataset presents weekly provisional counts of the number of deaths registered in England and Wales in the latest eight weeks in which data are available. The provisional data relates to deaths registered in a week (ending on a Friday) and are compiled at the end of the following week.

Time Series Data for monthly, quarterly and annual figures for public sector finances. These statistics are also available in spreadsheet format for download. The Time Series dataset facility is primarily designed for users who wish to customise their own datasets.

European System of Accounts table 28 shows government debt on a quarterly basis, for general government and its sub-sectors.

European System of Accounts table 25 is a complete set of quarterly non-financial accounts of the general government sector compiled according to ESA95. Table 2501 provides a breakdown of general government expenditure (both current and capital) and Table 2502 provides a smiliar breakdown of general government revenue. Table 2502 also shows the general government net borrowing (B.9) which is the difference between total revenue and total expenditure. The quarterly data in these tables are consistent with the annual general government data in ESA table 2.

European System of Accounts table 2 is a complete set of annual non-financial accounts of the general government sector and its sub-sectors compiled according to ESA95. The difference between total revenue and total expenditure is the net lending/net borrowing (B.9), for both general government and the sub-sectors. At the same time B.9 is the balancing item of the capital account.

ESA Table 11 reports on annual UK Government Expenditure by Function. Three tables are produced: Central Government only, Local Government only, and General Government as a whole i.e. consolidated for central and local government. The data are broken down by function using the Classification Of Functions Of Government (COFOG). This classification system was developed by the OECD and adopted as standard in National Accounts.

Travelpac consists of a series of data files derived from the International Passenger Survey (IPS), giving access to data in a form suitable for use by small businesses and students.

This table illustrates the extent to which individual businesses experienced actual changes in their sales between March 2012 and March 2013. The table contains information only from businesses which reported in both periods. Cells with values less than 10 are suppressed for some classification categories

The monthly GB RSI goes to a sample of almost 5,000 retailers of all sizes. All of the largest retailers are included together with a sample of smaller retailers. The commodity analysis in table 5 is based on returns of total retail sales from the panel of 5,000 businesses plus the commodity sales breakdown from around 31 of the largest retailers that sell a mix of commodities. The additional information from the 31 largest retailers is used to distribute sales more accurately into the four specialist headings noted in table 5.

Detailed revisions analysis for the current month

This table contains model based estimates of unemployment for local authorities and experimental model based estimates of unemployment for parliamentary constituencies for the twelve month period January 2012 to December 2012. Historic data for the twelve month periods from March 1996 to February 1997 onwards for local authorities and April 2006 to March 2007 onwards for parliamentary constituencies are also available on this table.
