Disclosure of Pupil Information by Welsh Ministers

Draft Regulations were laid before Parliament by Francis Maude, Cabinet Office Minister, on 19 July 2011 to enable the Welsh Government to disclose information about pupils from the School Census to the UK Statistics Authority (the preferred name for the Statistics Board) in order to improve population statistics.

No information will be disclosed to the Authority by the Welsh Government until Parliamentary approval is obtained, the regulations are made and both organisations are satisfied that data handling requirements are fully met. This is expected to be in late 2011.
