The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is an important part of the statistical community in the UK and part of the Government Statistical Society (GSS) – the professional community spread across K government departments and the devolved administrations. It is the UK Government's biggest department producing official statistics, to develop robust measures of the state of UK society.
ONS works closely with other statistical organisations in the UK and abroad, establishing and building relationships and working together to strengthen the statistical environment. This section describes some of the organisations with whom we work and who contribute to the development of improved statistics, and summarises how the domestic and international statistical landscapes fit together.
