Total population by the following countries of birth for England, Scotland and Wales by Postcode District

  • Poland

  • Romania

  • Lithuania

Other EU accension countries*:

  • Hungary

  • Czech Republic

  • Estonia

  • Latvia

  • Slovakia

  • Slovenia

  • Romania

  • Bulgaria

* I’d like these broken down, but it is not essential.
 
(I will also be looking at the % of the total population by Country of birth, but I can work this out myself if you supply the above data.)

Request

You have requested information from the 2011 Census under the Freedom of Information Act.  Statistics from the 2011 Census in England and Wales will be freely available on the Office for National Statistics (ONS) website in accordance with a planned timetable for release. It is not necessary to make a Freedom of Information request.

ONS has already published some Country of Birth statistics and these are available for England and Wales and at local authority level in Quick Statistics table QS 203EW. This table includes percentages of the population by country of birth. The table can be downloaded as a spreadsheet on the ONS website (782 Kb Excel sheet) .

Statistics at the postcode district level are not yet available but are planned for release by the end of February; the precise date will be announced soon. Information on release plans is available here

The Census in Scotland is the responsibility of National Records Scotland and for information from the Scotland 2011 Census, you will need to contact customer@gro-scotland.gsi.gov.uk, although the data you are seeking for Scotland are not yet available. For reference: the National Records Scotland website.
