I would like to request the ethnicity rates of the different Birmingham constituencies, West midlands, from June 2007 to the present day. I require ethnicity rates of Aston, Handsworth, Sparkhill, Sparkbrook, Nechells, Aston, Ladywood, Perry Bar, Soho, Springfield, Oscott and Lozells.

Thank you for your enquiry relating to ethnicity rates for certain Birmingham constituencies between June 2007 to present day.
It is not possible to provide accurate information on ethnicity rates at this level of detail, due to the sample sizes involved in producing estimates. The Annual Population Survey (www.ons.gov.uk/ons/about-ons/who-we-are/services/unpublished-data/social-survey-data/aps/index.html) allows detailed geographic analysis to local authority level, however due to small sample sizes we do not recommend analysis at a more detailed level than this.
You can access Annual Population Survey data from the NOMIS web site (www.nomisweb.co.uk) which contains an interactive tool to help you calculate ethnicity rates for Birmingham as a whole.

Furthermore, information on ethnicity rates by geographic region (at local authority level) can be found in an ONS output entitled "Population Estimates by Ethnic Group" (PEEG). The PEEGs are available for all local authorities in England and Wales broken down by sex and broad age groups. These estimates are only available for the years 2001 to 2009. Please note that the PEEGs are 'experimental' statistics meaning that they have not yet received formal National Statistics status. Therefore appropriate caution should be exercised when using and interpreting results from the PEEGs estimates.
