Could you provide me with the ethnic breakdown of the UK's population aged 18+. I would be happy to receive the data by email in Excel format.

Census estimates of the total population by ethnic group have been published for England and Wales and Northern Ireland but these are not yet available for the whole of the UK. This information will be published in later releases of statistics from the 2011 Census, broken down by age, for England and Wales and then on a UK basis.
ONS is responsible for the census in England and Wales and the census in Scotland is the responsibility of National Records Scotland and in Northern Ireland the census is the responsibility of the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency.
If you are interested in statistics on the ethnic population of usual residents in England and Wales, there are a number of tables which you might find suitable. Key Statistics table KS201EW uses the high level ethnic group classification of 18 groups as shown in the ethnic group question on the census questionnaire. Table KS201EW can be downloaded as a spreadsheet from this link:

A breakdown of ethnic group by age will be available for England and Wales in the release of more detailed characteristics scheduled for some time between July and October this year.

ONS will collate and publish UK level statistics once each census office has published.
