Data on migration from the 2011 Census are not yet available. The 2011 Census Prospectus sets out the release plans for the 2011 Census statistics and includes information on statistics relating to migration. The prospectus is available on the ONS website www.ons.gov.uk/ons/guide-method/census/2011/census-data/2011-census-prospectus/index.html
The latest available estimates of international migration for Greater Manchester are for the year to mid-2010 when net international migration was estimated to be 19,100 (31,900 inflows and 12,800 outflows). These estimates are used in the compilation of the annual mid-year population estimates. The mid-2002 to mid-2010 population estimates, including the international migration component of population change, will be revised to reflect the 2011 Census and provide a continuous series of population estimates. These estimates are currently planned for publication in March 2013. This revised series will give an indication of population change due to migration between mid-2001 and mid-2011 in Greater Manchester.
