The purpose of this consultation is to gather and assess user opinions on the changes proposed following a methodological review of smoothing and commuting adjustments in the compilation of regional Gross Value Added (GVA) and regional Gross Disposable Household Income (GDHI).
We would appreciate feedback on the following proposals:

the proposal to stop smoothing regional GVA and GDHI estimates at all geographic levels

the proposal to extend commuting adjustments in regional GVA to all regions of the UK
The consultation period begins with the publication of this document and will close on Friday 10 August 2012. Please ensure that your response reaches us by then.
