Our work and the statistics we produce may sometimes be the subject of external reviews or inquiries by the UK Statistics Authority or Public Administration Select Committee. These reviews, and the resulting reports, often highlight ways in which we can develop or improve what we do.
UK Statistics Authority Monitoring Reviews
From time to time the UK Statistics Authority (UKSA) commissions its Monitoring and Assessment Team to undertake reviews of a particular statistical series or issue, often responding to concerns raised publicly or privately. These reviews provide an independent oversight of official statistics and are published to ensure transparency in the way statistics are monitored and assessed.
Public Administration Select Committee (PASC)
The Public Administration Select Committee is made up of Members of Parliament appointed by the House of Commons and drawn from the three largest political parties. The Committee is responsible for examining the quality and standards of administration within the Civil Service and undertakes inquiries and studies on a wide range of issues, including the production and use of official statistics.
