UK gross domestic product in volume terms was estimated to have increased by 0.3% in 2013 Q1, unrevised from the previously published estimate.
Service sector output increased by 1.6% in March 2013 compared with March 2012. All of the components of the services industry increased in the most recent month compared with the same month a year ago.
There were 1.09 million young people not in education, employment or training, up 21,000 on the quarter but down 101,000 on the year.
Latest provisional estimated net migration 153,000 for year ending September 2012, significantly lower than previous year. Immigration lowest since 2001 at 500,000. Emigration currently 347,000.
In April 2013 the quantity of goods bought (volume) in the retail sector was estimated to have increased by 0.5% when compared with April 2012. Over the same period the amount spent (value) in the retail sector increased by 1.3%. The price of goods sold in the retail sector (as measured by the implied price deflator) increased by 0.6%.
Public Sector Net Borrowing (PSNB ex) in April 2013 was £6.3 billion, £25.4 billion lower than in April 2012. For 2012/13, PSNB ex was £85.1 billion, £35.8 billion lower than in 2011/12.
