Survey at a glance
Purpose
ONS runs two surveys into the business activities carried out by UK Asset Financing Organisations.
These organisations include non-bank credit grantors, finance lessors and other non-bank companies offering asset finance.
These surveys are the Quarterly Survey of Assets & Liabilities and of Transactions and the Annual Income and Expenditure Account.
The Annual Income and Expenditure Account collects information about the amounts receivable and payable for such items as rent and interest.
The data feeds into the National Accounts (including Financial Accounts) and the UK Balance of Payments (the difference between imports and exports), and is also used by financial analysts and international organisations.
The results can be used by businesses to analyse the main areas of asset financing activity.
