ONS Geography maintains a large number of lookup files which relate one or more geography to another. A sample of lookup files which we consider to be most frequently requested are available for download. ONS Geography hold other lookup files which can be supplied free of charge on request.

Product details
Look up files are in CSV or DBF format, with accompanying metadata in HTML format. CSV and DBF files can be read in MS Excel format and all common database applications, HTML files can be displayed in any internet browser.
The files that can be downloaded from this page, all contain the new 9 character coding as well as the old style coding. For further information please see the Code History Database.
Please note that Northern Ireland has not adopted the 9 character coding at present, so any information will still be in the current style coding.
