  • Commissioned tables are produced to the specific requirements of customers when needs are not met through standard releases. Most of the 2001 commissioned tables were not published online but a list of previously commissioned tables is available. For help or advice on accessing 2001 Census data, contact Census Customer Services.

  • Neighbourhood Statistics provides comprehensive summary results in the form of Key Statistics and univariate tables that cover all census topics. You can select data for specific topics or named places, or locate results using postcode search or through interactive maps. Visit Neighbourhood Statistics

  • Nomis is the official home for labour market statistics. It also provides online access to results from the census on all topics. Nomis provides the most detailed cross-tabulations which show inter relationships between characteristics of populations, with maps of areas used in 2001 Census output and other supporting information.

  • The UK Data Service provides free access to census aggregate data from the 1971 to 2011 Censuses through three services. CASWEB provides data for 1971. 1981, 1991, and 2001 Censuses in England and Wales and Scotland. and 1991 and 2001 Northern Ireland data. INFUSE provides UK data from the 2001 and 2011 Censuses. WICID provides travel and migration data for Censuses between 1981 and 2011; registration is required to access the majority of 2011 datasets.

Hardcopy

  • All 2001 Census printed reports, which were laid before Parliament, are available in print from The Stationery Office, often containing supplementary CDs.
