Cost indices (purchase of materials and fuels, average weekly earnings, general expenses and combined costs) relating to four aerospace and electronics industries. The data are based on the Standard Industrial Classification SIC (2007) and are calculated on a base year of 2005=100. The indices are widely used by government and business as an authoritative source of information on inflation, cost adjusting and price variation in trading contracts. Indices for the latest two months are always provisional and flagged with a "p" marker due to the level of imputation present for items where the latest prices are not available. This level of imputation reduces significantly for earlier months, allowing index data to be published as firm values. Occasionally, new information produces a change in the value of an index already published as firm. Where change is significant, index values are recalculated and annotated with an "r" marker.

Revisions to data provide one indication of the reliability of key indicators. This spreadsheet shows summary information on the size and direction of the revisions which have been made to the data covering a five year period. A statistical test has been applied to the average revision to find out if it is statistically significantly different from zero. These numbers include the effect of the reclassification onto SIC 2007.

Time series dataset: UK trade is a key economic indicator due to the importance of international trade to the UK economy. It is also a very timely statistic, providing an early indicator of what is happening more generally in the economy. In addition, it is a major component of two other key economic statistics – UK Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the UK Balance of Payments. This means that there is a threefold potential for UK Trade statistics to inform the Government’s view of the UK economy, as well as the views of others, such as economists, City analysts, academics, the media, and international organisations.

Interim life tables give statistics on period life expectancy by age and sex. Each interim life tables is based on population estimates, births and deaths for a period of three consecutive years. The 2011 International Trade in Services publication provides a detailed breakdown of annual trade in services estimates, analysing data by product, industry and country. The data are sourced from the Office for National Statistics comprehensive surveys into international trade. The International Trade in Services survey is a key source of UK trade data. It is important to note that the survey does not contain data for transportation, travel and banking industries. This data is obtained from other sources such as the International Passenger Survey and the Bank of England. As a result, these industries are excluded from the figures reported in this publication. Estimates for the overall level of trade in services, including these industries, are published in the Office for National Statistics Pink Book publication.

There are two tables of UK Electoral Statistics reflecting the number of electors registered to vote in the UK on 16 October 2012 (England (except London) and Wales) or 1 December 2012 (London, Scotland and Northern Ireland). Table 1 outputs local government electors by local government areas. Local government areas are unitary authorities, London boroughs and district councils in England, unitary authorities in Wales, council areas in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Table 2 outputs parliamentary electors by parliamentary constituencies in the UK.

Infant death figures reported in these tables represent babies born in 2010 who died before their first birthday: the 2010 birth cohort for infant deaths. They also contains additional analyses by some of the key risk factors affecting infant deaths, including age of mother and birthweight.
