Labour Force Survey (LFS) single month estimates of employment, unemployment and economic inactivity have been published by ONS since 2004. The estimates do not have National Statistics status and are volatile. Unlike the three month average estimates, the single month estimates are not necessarily representative of the UK as a whole and they are based on only around one third of the sample size. The three month average estimates (published at Table A02 SA) have National Statistics status and provide a much more reliable indication of short-term movements in the labour market.
