This Framework Document was issued at the creation of the ONS in April 1996. It established the status and governance of the ONS and described its aims, objectives and functions. The Document has not been updated since that date. The launch of National Statistics in July 2000 also saw the publication of a National Statistics Framework Document which provides a more recent description of the framework governing the operation of much government statistical work. |
