Purpose

The Investment Trusts: Annual Return of Assets and Liabilities and Overseas Income and Interest Paid survey collects data on the assets and liabilities of Investment Trusts at the end of the year

The data are supplied to National Accounts customers for use in the Financial and Sector Accounts and the compilation of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimates within the UK National Accounts and the UK Balance of Payments. There are numerous other users within and outside government who use the data to produce various financial analyses and to inform policy decisions.

Results appear in the Blue Book, Pink Book and Investment by Insurance Companies, Pension Funds and Trusts (MQ5) Statistical Bulletin.

Investment Trusts Annual Return of Liabilities and Assets and Overseas Income and Interest Paid

  • Selection Criteria - UK trading businesses registered for VAT and/or PAYE

  • Population - Approximately 60

  • Sample - Approximately 60

  • Frequency - Annual

  • Dispatch Date – Between 1 and 3 January

  • Return by Date – Between 9 and 10 May
