Nationality
A number of GSS posts are open only to UK nationals. Most departments also have posts open to Commonwealth citizens and EEA nationals.
You will be asked about your nationality at birth, whether you have ever possessed any other nationality or citizenship, whether you are subject to immigration control and whether there are any restrictions on your continued residence or employment in the UK.
Civil Service posts are not available to applicants resident overseas.

Visas
Commonwealth candidates must hold a Visa permitting employment in the UK. Anyone on Student or Visitor Visas are therefore ineligible to apply for Civil Service posts.
