Assistant Statistician (Fast Stream) Application Process

1. Registration

The 2007/08 scheme is now closed.

Round 1 2008/09 will be open from 15 September 2008 to 31 October 2008.

Round 2 2008/09 will be open from 1 February 2009 to 30 April 2008.

If you are a dual applicant for the Statistician Fast Stream/Graduate Fast Stream or for GCHQ you can only apply in Round 1 for the Statisticians' schemes.

Candidates will be able to register on the fast stream website. The online application process will register you for a password. Throughout each stage of the application process there will be messages on the candidate website about your next stage. It is therefore very important that you visit the site regularly and pick up your messages and directions on what to do next.

2. Selection of Fast Stream Schemes

Once you have selected the Statisticians Fast Stream Scheme you will have a specific number of days to complete each stage. You will be notified of your completion date for your online tests on your 'My Applications' page in the password protected area of the site. If you need an extension of a completion for genuine reasons, it is essential you contact the Fast Stream Helpdesk on 01276 400333 or send a message via the candidate website. The time frame for each stage is set once you have completed the preceding stage; any unused time is not carried forward.

These practice tests will give you an opportunity to try out the type of test that you'll have to pass to move on to the next stage. Whilst the practice is optional, we strongly recommend this opportunity to you. Further guidance on taking the tests is available.

*Please be aware that your invitation to these stages of the selection process depends on passing the preceding stage.
