ONS locations
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has almost 4,000 employees working across three main sites, and also employs around 1,000 home-based social survey interviewers.
We are currently in the process of relocating our headquarters to Newport. This move will result in the transfer of all statistical work, and its corporate support, between 2008 and 2010.
Newport
The Newport office, in south Wales, is ONS's corporate headquarters. Its primary focus is on the collection and analysis of economic statistics, methodological research and prices. There is also an expanding opportunity to branch out into social data and labour markets.
Titchfield
Based in Hampshire, ONS's Titchfield office is responsible for the ten-yearly census of population - the next census is scheduled for 2011. Other high priority areas of work include geography and regional and local statistics. The Titchfield office is also home to ONS's Centre for Demography.
London
In London, the focus is on researching and analysing social and economic data collected by other ONS sites. One of the main products of this work is the National Accounts.
