November roadshows

Planning and preparations for the Census 2011 is continuing. Extensive, ongoing and effective user and stakeholder consultation is of the utmost importance to the programme.

A series of roadshows are planned for November 2008 to help build on the consultations carried out to date.

Each roadshow will be an all-day event with a break for lunch. Potential subjects to be covered include updates on the progress of the programme, proposed methodologies, and outputs. There will also be an opportunity to discuss in more detail any points arising from the various presentations.

The roadshows are open to all, but due to limitations in the size of some venues, and in order to ensure that participants have any relevant documentation in advance, attendance is by prior arrangement (using the downloadable registration form) with the Census Offices.

The Census Offices may suggest a restriction in the numbers attending from any one organization whilst taking account of the variety of interest within the organization, and it would be helpful if larger organisations arranged their response with this point in mind.

The venues are spread across Wales and England, with two events planned in London because these tend to draw the most participants. The venues are:

  • Neuadd Henllan, Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, Powys LD2 3SY (6th November)

  • The Royal Statistical Society (RSS), Errol Street, London, EC1Y 8LX (7th November)

  • Marriott Hotel Royal County, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JN (10th November)

  • Entrance F, 1894 Suite, City of Manchester Stadium, Sport City, Manchester M11 3FF (11th November)

  • NEC, Birmingham B40 1NT (12th November)

  • Union Jack Club, Sandell Street, London, SE1 8UJ (24th November)
