Classificatory variables
The Opinions survey collects a range of both household and individual classificatory variables.
Household variables include (among others):
- region (Government Office region)
- number of adults in the household
- number of children in the household
- household type
- housing tenure
Some of the individual demographic variables included are:
- sex
- age
- relationship to household reference person
- martial status
- ethnicity
Some of the other individual variables included are:
- employment status
- National Statistics Socio-Economic Classification (NS-SEC)
- income
- general health
