Information note to customers
As from 1 April 2008, the National Health Service Central Register (NHSCR) will transfer to The Information Centre (IC) for Health and Social Care. This is because, following the Act to set up an independent statistical office, the non-statistical functions that ONS currently performs (such as managing NHSCR) will need to be done elsewhere.
After this date, The Information Centre will be responsible for the tracing, flagging and customer support currently provided for medical research studies at NHSCR. Plans are in place to ensure full continuity of the service prior to and after the transfer date.
