Relationships abroad
The Office for National Statistics is an important part of the statistical environment of the UK. It is the UK Government's biggest department producing official statistics, but it is not the only one; many government departments have statistical staff. Rather than working in isolation, these staff co-operate to develop robust measures of the state UK society.
This section explains the organisation that facilitates this co-operation, and also describes the other key actors on the statistical stage that affect the production of official statistics. It includes some of the organisations with whom we work and who contribute to the development of improved statistics, and summarises how the domestic and international statistical landscapes fit together.
