Adrian Jones and Tom Knight have been working with the London Development Agency's Strategy, Equalities and Performance Directorate from April 2007. They have a broad remit to work across London with statistical stakeholders to help improve the evidence base for policymaking. They work alongside the Directorate's Economic Analysis team.
Following a workshop held in 2007, they have been driving forward a programme of work to address the key issues for London raised by stakeholders - for example trying to reconcile the two official measures of London employment, which are taken from different perspectives, and investigating the treatment of Financial Services within the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
