The use of administrative and customer files for statistical purposes continues to grow apace, enabled by increased computing power and the widespread use of postcoded addresses. The 2006 SUF Conference brought together speakers who are leading the field in both public services and commercial companies, using files of both individuals and businesses. It provided an ideal opportunity for suppliers to share their experiences, and for statistics users to express their own needs and priorities.
