2011 Census: Updated view on content for England and Wales, April 2007

The 2011 Census: Updated view on content

ONS held an open meeting in Truro, Cornwall to further develop views on the content of the 2011 Census. This followed a series of similar meetings which took place across England and Wales during March 2007 and was intended to focus on specific requirements for Cornwall.

The meeting was held at Alverton Manor Hotel on Friday 20 April 2007 from 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm.

Background

Between May and August 2005, ONS ran a public consultation on the content of the 2011 Census questionnaire. This consultation exercise supported the need for most of the information collected in the 2001 Census. However, strong cases were also made for new topics to be included, such as income, language and second residences.
