Consultation on the 2011 Census Outputs, Online Survey and Blog

A 2011 UK Census output consultation is being carried out by the three UK Census offices (ONS, GROS, and NISRA) via an online survey which is running from 25 February 2008 for approximately 12 weeks. The aim of the consultation is to find out what users of the 2011 Census want from the data we gather and to help us to prioritise identified output needs. The focus is on high level output issues. Topics covered include products, access, dissemination and metadata.

The survey is supplemented by a 2011 UK Census Outputs website run in conjunction with the Hansard society. This provides users with the opportunity to elaborate on issues raised in the survey through participation in a blog. Topics for discussion will be raised regularly on the blog by the Census Offices to provide an opportunity to exchange and discuss ideas and views on census output issues with other users.

Findings from the survey will be informed by discussions on the website, with the results reviewed, evaluated, and released via a report to be published on the website later in 2008.

We look forward to hearing your views on output, the consultation, and the 2011 UK Census Outputs Consultation website.

Consultations on the detail of output content will take place at a later date.
