Postcode directories

Postcodes have been used for many years as a means of locational referencing of events for the processing and analysis of statistical data. ONS Geography's postcode products allow users to relate an event's postcode to administrative, electoral and a wide range of other geographic areas.

All of our postcode directories contain both live and terminated postcodes which mean that they grow with each new version and currently contain well over 2 million postcodes for the UK. They are released quarterly in February, May, August and November.
