Geographic policy
ONS Geography Policy is to provide a geographic referencing framework for producing accurate and consistent statistics. The implementation of this policy has a number of strands:
1. Providing a single definitive source of geographic information (GI) and metadata, and tools for their use
2. Providing policy, advice and best practice guidance on using GI data, and GIS tools and software to reference, analyse, and present statistics
3. Leading and collaborating on initiatives across the GSS, central government and beyond, to harmonise the use of GI in the production of statistics
